Agv free is updated i've scanned but still have viruses. help?

i cant afford anti virus can anyone recommend any free programs

symptoms of virus are windows explorer randomly exits as does win media player, web pages take ages to load. i hear the 'click' you get when opening folders all the time when PC is idol (like its up to something...) the whole thing freezes up from time to time etc etc. its not that long ago i did a reformat and installed xp home insted of pro. also does anyone know how to fully delete xp pro? because im not a pro at this. thanks :)

it's probably not a virus but spyware. There are also things called malware that could reek havoc on your computer. The best thing to do is use a program like Spybot, Adaware, AVG Antispyware to remove it. Just know that some of those infections require more than just a program. Google the infection you have to learn more about it, and maybe there are some instructions to remove it manually. good luck
