You must use a layered approach to removing spyware/adware as there is no commonly recognized rule for what constitutes these nasties; and free isn't always better

I have used CounterSpy and though good, it created too many false positives. Same with Spycatcher Express and Spyware Doctor, which recently detected the uninstaller of a well-known and trusted mp3 converter as potential spyware...ugh!

but ALWAYS use these products with caution. The days when you could rely on AVG, Spybot and Ad Aware Personal alone have long gone I'm afraid. Just because your freeware didn't detect it doesn't mean it isn't there.

Download this program http://www.superantispyware.com It is VERY effective and it is free.
Ad-Aware is not for trojans its for bugs that you get from websites (mainly) and AVG dosent seem to be able to delete things! i dont recoment using it! get a diffrent anti virus get something like eTrust anti virus or Panda Internet security. (search for it through microsoft because you get really long free trail times and you dont have to buy it later it just lets you download it! like the panda one you get it for about a year free! if not that get the google pack by going to pack.google.co.uk and it will give you norton anti virus free for 6 months) And make sure you get a good firewall to stop anymore getting in!
Go to http://www.cnet.com and download Avast Anti-Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spybot Search And Destroy, and, Spyware Blaster. These are excellent programmes, 100% effective, and they are all FREE. I use all the above, and recommend them, the only virus I have ever had was 5 years ago when I was using McAffee, McAffee couldn't move it, but Avast did.
