windows automatic updates has asked me to download this windows defender file over 10 times in the past 3 weeks! its really annoying as i keep going through all the motions of downloading and installing but then it will just ask me to update the exact same file a day or so later.
it doesn't tell me there are any problems with downloading or installing the update but i'm assuming it isn't working and thats why.
its really annoying!
i'm worried it may be a virus etc... that may be blocking the update but i have agv anti virus/anti spyware and spybot search and destroy which are all up to date and working properly and i've ran them in safe mode.
(i had adaware but thats kept crashing even after i installed uninatalled etc... about 5 times, so does not want to work on my pc- very annoying!!)
if anyone has the same problem or knows how to fix this it would be great if you could help!

I suggest to temporarily disable all active antivirus, antispyware and firewall while trying to perform this update. Make sure this is the only thing you're doing while connected to the internet...
When you're done, reboot and you should be set...
Something is wrong for adware to keep crashing. You need to flatten (reformat) unfortunately, by the sounds of what you say.
