Anti virus?

I am new to this forum so I hope I havent given anyone bad marks accidently when I ask any questions, if I do soooo sorry. when I uninstalled Mc afee i was able to install AGV, but it is saying my internal virus dateabase is out of date, does this mean my computer is not protected

In the bottom right hand corner of the screen is an icon made up of small squares, (green, yellow,red,black) right lick it nad click

"check for updates"

make sure you're connected to the internet first.

if it shows more than one update, choose one, then repeat the process again till it says "your program has the latest updates...."

I also recommend downloading "spybot search and destroy"

then updating that, then clicking the immunize button and then running a scan in that.

You should uninstall other antivirus software and choose any one anti virus software.

You need too make sure you have antivirus,firewall, and spyware protection on your computer. You can use all freeware programs to cover these areas if you want. AVG free is only antivirus protection only and it sounds like you need to check it for updates right now before running another scan. The windows security center in XP should tell you what your security status is right now. Go to your control panel find your security center open it and you want to see all green lights on everything.
no the fact that you're trusting AVG means you're computer might as well not be protected, AVG is the most retarded anti virus software ever made, it gives tons of false positives and the definition lists it does have use extensive white listing and are not comprehensive at all.

I have an infected DLL file on my computer?

This dll file is "windows\system32\dpserialo.dll." have tried a number of antivirus software ( McAfee and Adaware, AGV ) to get this off my computer. Is there any way to get this dll. file off my computer without doing a complete system restore (back to factory settings). I really don't want to do that because i have a lot of crap I really don't want to lose and the thought of putting everyrthing back on my PC alredy has me depressed. Any help would be appreciated. TrendMicro or BitDefender will do fine. If none of them detects the DLL as a malware, then probably it isn't?

If you want to just delete ANY file, get and install Unlocker. It's free and very simple. A restart may be required to complete the removal.
Get Avast! Antivirus.

It seriously helps, it really does. I had an infected DLL too, and Avast detected and removed it, after a system restart. And now its gone. Avast works, you can't go wrong there. Plus its free. Go to Avast.com

Trojan freezing internet browser?

my bfs computer has a trojan/virus on it, but i cant get rid of it. ive used virus checkers spy doctor and spybot search and destory and he also has avg or agv? something like that anyway, but it just wont go.

when you open up IE or firefox, the homepage loads but if you try to go to another page, the page just completly freezes and in IE blank tabs and windows keep opening and theres also the pop ups too.

ive uninstalled all the unecessary programs he had on there like poker, toolbars etc, ive also reset IE's settings and uninstalled and then re installed FF hoping it may do something after completing the virus scans. but the same thing keeps happening.

the os is vista.

any ideas?

Free Pop up Killer?

Any advise or suggestion on getting a good (Free) Pop up killer, I AGV anti-virus and service pack 2 firewall but I get a few pop up's getting through espcially when I first start up.

If the pop ups appear when you're online, activate your browsers pop up blocker. Go to tools - internet options - block pop ups.

But if they appear on your pc when you're not connected to the net then you have either spyware or adware on your pc. Run Spybot S%26D and Ad-Aware SE Personal to get rid of them.

Arai tour x or Shoei Raid II?

Anyone use a Arai Tour helmet? I ride a TDM900 and currently use a AGV Kinetic helmet, but find that I get no air circulation from the chin area (bit of a Brucie Forsyth chin I'm afraid) which causes the visor to mist up. I've tried on the Arai Tour and with the extra chin room this should be OK, but I'm not sure about the peak on the helmet at high speeds whipping my head back? Or do I go for a Shoei Raid which has more room than my existing helmet?

I just bought the Shoei Raid II yesterday, the shop i bought it in let me try both on. I've a big face and was suprised how comfortable the Shoei was, previous helmets always had one area which was uncomfortable .. this one didn't. As one of the previous posts says, the shop probably won't let you borrow their helmet .. incase you damage it etc, but they will let you wear it in the shop for a while to see how it feels after time - seeing if there's any stress marks etc. Only you know what fits you and the only way you'll be able to tell is by trying it on. I'd seriously go against mail order, unless you've tried it on in the shop first - but then you've wasted the nice people in the shops time and have nowhere to go if you have any issues/querys at a later date.

You should ask the dealer to loan you a helmut before you buy one, I bought a ARAI and seem to get a lot of noise but it is liter than shoei, but the shoei is definately quiter
try both on at a dealer to see what feels more comfortable for you also price could be the difference.some people feel that either shoei or arai is better but really comes down to personal taste.
